CDNC Open Meeting at Shanghai

Main Topics of the Meeting:

1. The current situation of Domain Name disputes Resolution Policy

2. Implimentation of UNAME 

Proposed resolution -- to implement the 3-layer module of DNS by using UNAME

6. T/S conversion 

Jointly accomplish drafting the first draft of T/S conversion table which will be submitted to IETF

7. It was suggested that CDNC should modify its current bylaws in which the Chair has the term of one year

1)Implement the machenism of co-chair.
2)The term of the co-chairs is one year, reappointment is permitted. The co-chair shall be selected though negotiation or voting.
3)CDNC board members shall be selected though negotiation or voting.
4)Replace the CDNC secretariat with the Joint Secretariat 
5)Hualin Qian and Xianxiong Zeng were nominated co-chairs of CDNC, which took effect after modifying of the CDNC bylaws.

8. CDNC is currently composed of four working groups, they are registration WG, technology WG, foreign affairs WG and finicing WG.The four WGs are required to submit status reports periodically.

9. CDN's Consideration on IDN

1) Develop IDN service should ensure the stability and compatibility of the current DNS.
2) To respect the IDN standard (proposed/issued) by IETF and announce it as soon as possible.However, in the process of setting down the specification, ICANN needs to consider the requirement of various local language users, then bring the result into the system specification which had been adopted widely.
3)In regard to the DN registration and DRP issues, ICANN should fully respect the culture and customs of the region where majority of certain language users are living in.
4)To Cope with the speciality of various languages, there is a need to establish test-beds to solve any problems that might be emerged. CDNC is willing to contribute to the operation and management of Chinese TLD, which is one (a very important) part of IDN.
